Guess the time had come for the old Bristow Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant, more recently Meats BBQ building to go away. And go away it did yesterday. The heavy equipment on site made short work of tearing down the structure as large dump trucks pulled in and out to cart away the debris.

Forrest Yoshimoto, owner and operator of 323 Dirt Worx of Depew, was tasked with the demolition work.

The Old Bristow KFC being loaded and carted away.

I had thought the building originally housed the KFC, but learned that morning that it was once a small two pump gas station back in the day. No doubt our local history Bristow guru, Letha Caudle, has a photo and knows the history – I’ll have to ask the next time I see her.

Just another passage for Bristow as the city landscape continues to evolve. More construction and improvements in the offing for Coop’s Stop ‘n Shop? Stay tuned.
