Toni Godwin, Kim Rogers and Shirley Groom

Lots of tears of joy on display yesterday as John Tidwell and several other Bristow Ministerial Alliance partners helped bless and dedicate the new Bristow Social Services building on South Chestnut. Dozens of other interested and active Bristow citizens came to share in the celebration and show their support for the important, and often life-changing, work of this wonderful organization.

Giving Thanks!

A series of prayers were offered up by John Tidwell, Eric Parker, Katie Hill and other local pastors – plus a rousing and inspirational prayer of gratitude by Bristow Social Services Director Toni Godwin. I so wish everyone in Bristow could have heard her words – and her passion for her work and the people and community she serves. Bristow has a treasure in her.

Honoring several of the Bristow Social Services Board Members

Lots of heartfelt thank you’s were also dispensed for the support and help of volunteers, donors, Board members and more. The renovation of the building is truly something. Nothing fancy inside, that wouldn’t have served any good purpose, instead a well appointed and very functional series of spaces that should serve their missions well for years to come.

Stocked and Ready – To Nourish Bodies and Souls

The food pantry was well stocked and organized. It was good to see, also, the pallets of additional food stocks awaiting their need. As Toni said in several ways – when God calls, Bristow citizens answer. What I witnessed there yesterday was truly inspiring. So many good people, our neighbors, coming together to assist and uplift their neighbors in need. Something that occurs every day at Bristow Social Services.
