Joyce Kitchens

August 24, 1925 –  August 24, 2017

Joyce Elois Kitchens was born August 24, 1925 to Alfred A. and Esther Mae Miller in Olio, Arkansas.  She departed this life August 24, 2017 at the age of 92 years old.

She attended school in Danville, Arkansas.  On September 26, 1941 Joyce Elois Miller and Omer Leon Kitchens were united in marriage.  To this union was born one son, Don.  They enjoyed over 65 years together until his passing May 16, 2007.

They had been Bristow residents since 1952 moving here from Okmulgee.  She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and the order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Don Kitchens and wife Brenda of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one sister, Nell James of Bristow; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Kitchens, Mark Kitchens, Dustin Kitchens, Tiffany Kitchens, Meggan Banfield and Jeremiah Banfield; eight great grandchildren as well as many loving nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and four sisters.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00PM, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Bristow City Cemetery with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating.
