Rodney Cloud

October 03, 1944 – July 18, 2017

David Rodney Cloud was born October 3, 1944 to Clarence and Lou Cloud in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  He departed this life July 18, 2017 at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 15 days. He had been a Tulsa resident for the past twenty-five years.

A graduate of Bristow High School, Rodney would go on to serve a short time with the United States Army.  He later attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received an associate degree.  As well, he completed an apprenticeship program with the IEBW; beginning a career in the electrical trade that spanned forty-five years.  He was a member of the Local 584.  Rodney and Melissa Darragh were united in marriage on November 8, 2005.  They enjoyed nearly twelve years together; some of this time spent taking the R.V. on the open road.  Hunting and fishing could also fill his time and rest assured this was fuel for Rodney’s ability to tell a story unlike any other.  He could fly a kite to the highest of heights; how it was done is still a mystery.  Rodney loved horses and shooting pool.  He was a member of the Bristow Elk’s Lodge.  He loved his family dearly but above all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Rodney is survived by his wife Melissa of the Tulsa home; one daughter, Kathy Hope; three sons, Clinton Cloud of Stroud, Ryan Cloud and Stephen Cloud, both of Bristow; one sister, Kim Wesley of Bristow; one brother, Mark Cloud of Stroud; and three grandchildren, Clay Cloud, Baylee Cloud and Savannah Cloud.  He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rodney Eugene Cloud, one grandson, Braden Cloud and numerous aunts and uncles.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, July 27th at the Bristow Christian Center with Reverend Wayne Gemmill officiating.  Interment will follow at 2:00pm at Double Springs Cemetery near Hulbert.
