Reta Evelyn Lane
July 28, 1935 – January 15, 2017
Reta Evelyn Lane was born July 28, 1935 in Kellyville, Oklahoma to Delbert and Nadine (Gilreath) Mayberry. She departed this life January 15, 2017 at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 18 days.
Reta lived in the Bristow area most all her life. On February 19, 1954, Reta Mayberry and Billy Dean Lane were united in marriage in Pasco, Washington. To this union were born two daughters, Karla and Pam.
The essence of Reta’s joy was her family. She enjoyed fishing, music, dancing, playing cards, reading and attending sporting events. She was known to be a great cook and homemaker. Spending time at the lake with family was one of Reta’s favorite pastimes. Many fun weekends were spent on the water skiing, and fishing.
She is survived by two daughters, Karla Armiger and husband Dennis of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Pam Mudgett and husband, Mike, of Coweta, Oklahoma; one brother, Olin Mayberry; and two sisters, Thelma McQuain and Linda Osburn; four grandchildren, Megan Cole, Lindsey Hammond, Ryan Cole and James Hammond; four great-grandchildren, Jaylyn Hammond, Grayson Hammond, Kade Cole and Jax Cole; She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy Dean Lane and one grandson, Aaron D. Lane.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Bristow City Cemetery with Reverend David Taylor officiating.
