It doesn’t seem possible, but it is indeed “Back to School” in Bristow, Oklahoma this week. So here is what you need to know:
THURSDAY, AUGUT 11 – PARENTS’ OPEN HOUSE
Parents are encouraged to take the opportunity to meet their child’s teacher(s) for this school year. Open houses are scheduled on Thursday, 8/11, as follows:
Edison Elementary & Collins Elementary – 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Middle School (7th and 8th Grades ONLY) & High School – 5:00 to 7:00 pm
A “Transition Camp” for 6th grade students will be held on Monday, 8/08, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Dinner will be provided for 6th grade students and their parents at 5:00 pm in the Chuck West Fieldhouse.
Also, a 9th grade “Freshmen Connection” will be held on Friday, 8/05, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at the High School Student Center. Parents will be invited to come at 12:15 pm for an introduction to the freshmen teachers.
A Title I meeting for parents will be held at Edison Elementary in the Kindergarten Building from 5:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, 8/11.
Note: JOM students may pick up their school supplies at the open houses, with the exception of the high school. Both middle school and high school JOM supplies will be distributed at the middle school open house on the 11th. The 6th grade JOM students may pick up their supplies during the Transition Camp, and the 9th grade JOM students may pick up their supplies during Freshmen Connection.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 12 – 1ST DAY OF CLASSES
Bristow Schools will be going to a 4-day school week for the 2016-17 school year. Most weeks will be Monday-Thursday with Friday off unless there is a holiday or other special circumstances, in which case the off day may change, including the first day of school which will be a Friday, August 12th.
