Linda E. Bailey
June 20, 1947 – April 16, 2017
Linda Elaine Bailey was born June 20, 1947 to Luther and Willa Mae Taylor in Bristow, Oklahoma. She departed this life April 16, 2017 at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 27 days.
Linda was born and raised in Bristow. She attended Bristow Public Schools. On January 18, 1965 John Thomas Bailey and Linda Elaine Taylor were united in marriage. To this union were born two daughters, Diana and Jodi.
While the girls were still in school she and John were very involved with the band boosters club. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors, traveling with John to Eureka Springs, going to garage sales, cooking for her family and decorating her house for Halloween and Christmas. Linda loved her family very much. Taking care of John was more than her vows being kept, it was her way to show him how much she loved him. She was always available for her daughters, no matter what they needed. She also made herself available to her daughter’s friends. She was known as everyone’s “Mom”. She had a gift for listening and knowing just what you needed to hear.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Bailey of the Bristow home; daughters, Diana Perry of Bristow and Jodi Wise and husband Lester of Tulsa; two sisters, Cathy Wolcott and husband Tom of Bristow and Barbara McSpadden of Bristow; one grandson, Theron Perry of Bristow. She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Josh McSpadden.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Chapel with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Bristow City Cemetery.
