Marsha Anne Vassar

Marsha Anne Vassar was born July 7, 1948 to Elmer and Flora Due in Lawton, Oklahoma. She departed this life October 27, 2016 at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 20 days.
She graduated from Duncan High School. She then attended Oklahoma University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She taught Home Economics at Lawton McArthur High School for one year.
On August 14, 1971 Marsha Ann Due and Joe Sam Vassar were united in marriage. They moved to Bristow in 1974 from Oklahoma City.
Marsha enjoyed gardening, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was very involved with her niece and nephews and was sure to brag on them any chance she got.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Joe Sam Vassar; mother Flora Due; sister Tana and Jerry Gregston; Brothers-in-law Paul and Jan Vassar, Bill and Rene Vassar; Niece Jana and Darren Bridges; Nephews Jay and Jill Gregston, Jack and Jeanne Gregston, David Vassar, Andrew and Mary Ann Vassar, and Bill and Ashlea Vassar; 10 great nieces and nephews, and soon to be great great niece Sutton Sloan Stewart. She is also survived by her “duck” children Tim and Lisa Thompson, Tracy and Kevin Kuberski, Christin and Dominic Latkavski and Craig Thompson. She is also survived by a special friend Penny Geurin. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Due, brother, Terry Due, in laws Bill and Hope Vassar.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM, Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Freeland Center with Reverend Rebecca Morad officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
