Nelda Karleen Ongstad

Nelda Karleen Ongstad was born May 23, 1940 to Virgil Monroe and Beulah Maude Ewing in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. She departed this life August 24, 2016 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Karleen attended school at Bristow Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Carl Ongstad on December 7, 1999. They enjoyed many years together until his passing in 2009. Karleen enjoyed puzzles, reading books and music. She especially enjoyed dancing and had won trophies in jazz dancing contests.
She is survived by one daughter, Schellie Melton and husband Rick of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Eutana Ruth Lovejoy of Seattle, Washington and Ladona Matlock of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Lisa Melton and Monica Bingley; and seven great- grandchildren, Jessie, Marquetta, Shelby, Paris, Sean, Jerry and one great great-grandchild, Daniel.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at the Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
