Preston “Pat” McClendon

February 19, 1935 – May 22, 2017

Preston “Pat” Eugene McClendon was born February 19, 1935 to Oscar and Ruby McClendon in Stroud, Oklahoma.  He departed this life May 22, 2017 at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 3 days.

On November 14, 1952 Preston “Pat” McClendon and Claudine Ellis were united in marriage.  From this union were born two sons, Rick and Cary.

He worked in the asphalt industry for a number of years.  He enjoyed raising horses until his health wouldn’t allow him to.  Most recently his favorite thing to do was watching western movies.  He also dearly loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Claudine McClendon of the Bristow home; two sons, Rick McClendon and wife Barbara of Bristow and Cary McClendon and wife Lynette of Lavaca, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Patrick, John, Chad, Brad, Kristy, Mindy and Heather; seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vick and Cleo McClendon and one sister, Alice Wright.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00AM, Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Hutchins Maples Matherly Chapel with Reverend Bob McClendon officiating.  Interment will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in Depew, Oklahoma.
