Bristow begins 'Unwrapping' its Christmas season this week in a big way. Direct from the Bristow Chamber of Commerce, here is the week's goings on: On Thursday, Thanksgiving evening from 5-8pm many of our merchants will be open for local shopping. Check out special deals and visit with friends. At 6pm on Thursday we'll have the tree lighting in town square to kick off the Christmas season. Come join us in the square.

She graduated from Bristow High School. On March 19, 1969 Aleta Horn and Gerald “Rocky” Folsom Schmitt were united in marriage. They enjoyed over 30 years together before his passing January 9, 2000.

The quake we all felt this weekend may have been startling, but for Cushing residents the 'aftershocks' are challenging. The ground and buildings shook violently and caused significant damage - roofs collapsing, tumbling bricks and stones, and some minor injuries from falling objects and falls. The quake measured 5.0 and was reportedly centered 1.2 miles west of Cushing, Oklahoma.
