Many of us in and around Bristow have the occasion to host out of town friends or family, and sometimes ‘housing’ them all can be a challenge. Family reunions, graduation celebrations, or whatever, having some fun alternatives to a sterile (let’s hope) motel room can be a real plus in making their stay more enjoyable. And believe it or not, Bristow actually has several great options to consider.
Traditional Bed and Breakfast’s have been the norm for many years, but with the advent of Airbnb (for those unfamiliar, they offer a search for various non motel/hotel overnight or longer term stays), a number of enterprising souls have turned their ‘extra’ or ‘not always occupied’ properties into short term rentals for travelers. We have several nice options right here in Bristow, including the most recent addition, The Happy Hermit Guest House.
The Happy Hermit offers a relaxing, country-feel place just a few mile northwest of Bristow. It consists of three bedrooms and a bath, an inviting front porch and a friendly host (and decorator) – Lori McNabb. This place is downright charming. They can accommodate up to 7 guests.
If your guests need a bigger place and a full kitchen, there is a Private Home available for short term stays right in town. It offers 3 bedrooms, central heat/air, a bbq grill and cable tv. It is a nice, well kept home.
And there is The Guest House in Bristow (also an in-town location). This cozy house offers 2 bedrooms, one bath and a living room, along with full size washer/dryer. Your hosts at the Guest House are Ted and Anita VandeWeghe.
So who knew? Nice to have some ‘homey’ alternatives for that next guest ‘overflow’ challenge. Please check out the links to their BristowBuzz pages for more information.
