Cole James Moser

January 15, 1925 – March 09, 2017

Cole James “Jim” Moser was born January 15, 1925 to Rufus and Clara (Turner) Moser in Binger, Oklahoma.  He went home to be with Jesus March 9, 2017 at the age of 92 years 1 month and 22 days.

Jim was drafted into the US Army April 19, 1943; faithfully serving his country abroad in such places as Normandy in Northern France, Germany, Belgium, England and various other locations.  His service earned him several decorations, most notably, three Bronze Stars, as well as an honorable discharge on December 30, 1945.  In October of 1947, he met Dorothy Moody, the love of his life.  They were wed February 9, 1948 in Decatur, Texas.  To this union were born three children; Jim, Paula and Ronnie.  Jim took a job with Oklahoma Natural Gas in April of 1946; as a result Jim and Dorothy would make Depew their home.  He would go on to retire in August 1986 after forty years of service.  Jim loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Bristow Assembly of God Church.  Retirement gave Jim time to do the things he loved the most.  Jim couldn’t pass up a chance to spend time with family, go fishing or spend time at the lake camping.  As well, he was a member of the V.F.W.

Jim is survived by his wife, of Sixty-Nine Years, Dorothy of the Depew home; son Jim Moser and wife Joyce of Bristow; daughter Paula Norris and husband Terry of Tulsa, one sister, Pat Huff of McPherson, Kansas; sister in law Dottie Moser of Alexandria, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Kim Looney and husband Trent of Bristow, Angie Ward and husband Scott of Glenpool, Rhonda Rust and husband Trey of Florida, Ashley Buie and husband Chris of Edmond, Adrian Carpenter of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Desiree Provence also of Blanchard, Allison Quisenberry and husband Chad of Owasso and Robert Moser and wife Misty of Pauls Valley,Oklahoma; and 18 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ronnie Wayne Moser, one sister Mable Bennett and two brothers, Ray Moser and Mike Moser and one great grandchild, Bailey Moser.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Bristow Free Holiness Church with Pastor Mark Evans officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Depew, Oklahoma.
