Helen Orlene McArthur was born January 22, 1917 to Charley and Cordie Bell Kerley in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She departed this life October 15, 2016 at the age of 99 years, 8 months and 23 days.

She worked as a LPN at the Bristow Medical Center from 1941 to 1957. On January 22, 1957 she married Hobson B. McArthur. They enjoyed 44 years together before his passing in 2001.

Helen was a faithful member of the Bristow First Free Will Baptist Church. She was very involved in many different ways such as cooking for funerals and the ladies auxiliary. Her servant heart will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sisters Onnalee Cearley, Hiawatha Edsel, Ann Stone & Husband Dale; Brother Pat Kerley & sister in law Loraine Kerley; daughter Pamela McArthur -Elliott & son-in-law John Elliott, son-in law James Buterbaugh; Grandchildren, Greg Buterbaugh & wife Debbie, Randy Buterbaugh & wife Beth, Cary Buterbaugh, Brian McArthur & wife Emily,Tiffany Lee & Husband John Baker Branden Lee & Katie , Kyle Wilson, Zachery Wilson & Jillian, Elissa Wilson, John Thomas Elliott & honorary grandson Jason Rogers & wife Shelly; great- grandchildren Shelby
Buterbaugh, Morgan Buterbaugh and Jordan Buterbaugh. Sarah Rich & Husband Jason, Janae Brown, Victoria Brown, Andrea Wilson, Kala Rogers, Ella Lawson , Isaac McArthur & Madaline McArthur & great-great-grandson Aaron Roxy. She is also survived by many of her neice & nephews in both the Kerley & McArthur families. She is preceded in death by her Parents. Charlie Kerley & Cordie Bell (Roland) Kerley, daughter, Phyllis Buterbaugh; Brothers Jack Kerley and CN Kerley; Sister, Juanita June Dobson; nephews John & David Kerley, neice Kimberly Noel, nephew Kerley Skeen, & nephew Jimmy Cearley. She will be joined soon (if not already) by her sister Betty Jane James.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Bristow First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Conn officiating. Interment will follow at the Bristow City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations to be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 900 NE Verdant, Bentonville, AR 72712.
